Who Turns Up

We're a garage door company based at 480 Sawgrass Corporate Pky in Sunrise, and that's where the truck starts every job. We don't have a founding story to tell you and we're not going to invent one - what matters more is what we work on and where. Most of the houses in this part of Florida were built between 1962 and 2005, with the typical build year landing around 1976, so a good share of the doors we see still run on the original torsion hardware, side-mounted track, and steel panels from that era. That's the stock we know best: the springs nobody stocks anymore, the rollers that were never meant to last fifty summers, the openers that predate rolling-code remotes.

We work on sectional steel and aluminum garage doors, torsion and extension springs, openers, tracks, cables, rollers, and panel sections - both repair and full replacement when a door is past the point of patching. We cover Sunrise and the surrounding cities within roughly a 20-mile radius, which we list under Getting Hold of Us. If your address falls outside that range, say so when you call and we'll tell you straight whether it's a trip we can make.

Getting Hold of Us

Call (954) 459-3860. That's the fastest way to get a real quote, because a person who's actually done the job can ask the two or three questions that change the price - door width, spring type, whether the opener is original to the house.

Our address is 480 Sawgrass Corporate Pky, Sunrise, FL 33325, if you need it for a work order or just want to know where the truck is coming.

We serve Sunrise itself along with nearby cities including Tamarac, Lauderhill, all about 2 miles out, Lauderdale Lakes and North Lauderdale at around 4 miles, and farther out toward Margate, Washington Park, Oakland Park, Coconut Creek, Wilton Manors, Dania Beach, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Parkland, Southwest Ranches, Lighthouse Point, Hillsboro Beach, Pembroke Park, West Park, Ives Estates, Ojus, Country Club, North Miami Beach, Sunny Isles Beach, Miami Lakes, Opa-locka, and North Miami. If your town isn't on that list, ask - it may still be a short enough drive to be worth it.

What Happens After You Call

When you call, we ask what's going on with the door - stuck shut, won't close all the way, loud bang and then nothing, opener running but the door not moving. Those symptoms point to different parts, and knowing which one you've got before the truck rolls means we can bring the right spring size or roller set the first time instead of making a return trip.

We'll ask the door's width - single bay around 8 or 9 feet, or double around 16 feet - because spring tension and cable length depend on that. We'll ask whether the springs are torsion, mounted on a bar above the door, or extension, running along the horizontal track; that changes both the part and the labor.

From there we can usually give you a price range over the phone for common jobs like a broken spring or a worn opener gear. What we can't price blind is anything involving bent track, a cracked panel, or an opener we haven't seen run - those need eyes on the door before we commit to a number, because the damage underneath isn't always what it looks like from the driveway.

What We Actually Do

  1. A quote is only as good as what we know going in

Door width, whether it's single or double, torsion or extension spring, steel or aluminum panel, and the age of the opener - those five things get you close to an accurate number over the phone. What we can't price sight unseen: a door that's come off its track, a section that's cracked or dented badly enough to need replacing instead of straightening, or an opener that's making noise but still technically runs.

  2. Those need a tech standing in front of them

Because the fix might be a ten-dollar part or it might be a case where replacing the whole door costs less than chasing a repair on hardware that's 30 or 40 years old - and with housing stock here mostly dating to the 1960s and 70s, that call comes up often. One honest limit: we don't stock every spring size or every discontinued opener board on the truck. If your door takes an uncommon part, we'll tell you that on the first visit rather than guess at a price and come back twice.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Sunrise. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

Why does my garage door spring keep breaking?

Torsion springs are rated for a set number of open-close cycles, usually somewhere around 10,000, and most homes in this area have originals from their 1962-2005 build era still installed. Once a spring's past its rated life, it can snap with no warning, often on a cold morning or after a stretch of heavy use. Replacing it with a correctly sized spring for your door's current weight is the fix, not just swapping like for like.

Do you work outside Sunrise itself?

Yes. We cover the surrounding area out to roughly a 20-mile radius, including Tamarac, Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, North Lauderdale, Margate, Oakland Park, Coconut Creek, and farther points like Miami Lakes and North Miami. Call and tell us where you are and we'll confirm.

How do I know if I need a new opener or just a repair?

If the opener motor runs but the door doesn't move, that's usually the gear or the trolley, not the whole unit, and it's repairable. If the circuit board is dead or it's an older chain-drive unit that's failed more than once, replacement usually makes more sense than another patch job. We check this on-site before recommending either.

Does South Florida's climate affect garage doors differently?

The mild temperate climate here doesn't bring the freeze-thaw stress colder regions deal with, but humidity and salt air corrode steel hardware steadily over the years. Rollers, hinges, and cable ends on an older door often show more rust than you'd expect for their age, which is something we check closely on every repair call.
